Calling classroom rollercoaster designers – Sketching Stars 2026 is here 🤩✏️

This year’s Sketching Stars competition will take your pupils’ creativity to new heights – in partnership with the UK’s biggest theme park, Alton Towers Resort! *

Over the next month, Sketching Stars will challenge each pupil to channel their inner rollercoaster designer and put their imaginations to the test.

KS1: Our KS1 competition invites pupils to design their own rollercoaster cart – whether by adding their favourite colour, drawing extra features, plotting in an automatic snack station or even giving it wings!

KS2: Our KS2 competition challenges pupils to bring their wildest rollercoaster dreams to life – by designing it from scratch. From twists and turns to jumps and loops, the sky really is the limit.

What’s more, whilst the competition sheets put your pupils on track for greatness, we also have a wide selection of bonus sheets available to help spark your pupils’ imaginations across the curriculum – suitable for both KS1 and KS2.

Prizes that’ll make you loop-de-loop!

Every teacher who enters their class will receive a personal STAEDTLER stationery pack (that’s right, all of you!). But that’s not all – two lucky winners (one KS1 and one KS2) will receive…

🎢 A class trip for the winning pupils’ class to any Merlin Entertainment attraction during the spring or summer term in 2027;

🎫 An Essentials Merlin Annual Pass for the winning pupil;

✏️ A bumper STAEDTLER stationery bundle for the winning pupil’s whole class;

🖋️ A STAEDTLER stationery goodie bag for the winning pupil, including a personalised certificate;

👩‍ A personal STAEDTLER stationery bundle for the teacher of the winning pupil.

🎫 What’s more, if one of your pupils wins, YOU will also receive an Essentials Merlin Annual Pass — providing 325 days’ entry to over 20 top UK attractions! 🎢

So, what are you waiting for?
