Best known for being the longest serving female member of the Blue Peter team, Konnie’s first foray on television was presenting the satellite show, TVFM, at the age of 16. She then hosted various programmes, including children’s quiz show, Eat Your Words and early morning programme, Milkshake on Channel 5.
Konnie’s extensive broadcasting resume has since extended beyond children’s television — from co-presenting the BBC’s UK Top 40 to co-writing the second episode of Channel 4’s Black Mirror with her husband, Charlie Brooker.
And in between all of this, she’s even managed to fit in an Economics degree from the University of Cambridge!
Konnie’s latest project, her debut children’s book series, ‘Cookie!... and the Most Annoying Boy in the World', reflects her own comedic upbringing in a London Bangladeshi household — combining the trials and tribulations of every UK nine year old with an array of madcap science projects.
If you'd like to buy a copy of ‘Cookie!... and the Most Annoying Boy in the World' for your classroom, you can do so via Waterstones or Amazon.
