Sketching Stars 2023 — with Disney’s The Lion King

2023’s Sketching Stars competition transported our members and their pupils to the African Savannah with Disney’s The Lion King!

Entrants were invited to explore the roar-some world of musical theatre and costume design by designing their very own costumes and masks — just like those worn by Mufasa, Scar and Simba in the stage production of Disney’s The Lion King.

Over 1,800 fantastic entries were submitted from across the UK, with Molly and Arvind selected as our Queen and King of the jungle — for their incredibly detailed costume concepts…

There was no need to prowl for prizes with this competition — each winner got their paws on:

• a Disney Musicals in Schools workshop for their school
• a personal STAEDTLER stationery bundle
• a bumper STAEDTLER stationery bundle for their class.

Plus, the winning pupils’ teachers received 2x tickets each to see Disney’s The Lion King live in London — with travel and accommodation paid for by STAEDTLER Teachers’ Club UK.
