Lloyd Warbey — the presenter of Disney's* Art Attack shows us how you and your class can enjoy a crafty afternoon making your own Cosmic Jetpacks!

You can watch the full video over on our Facebook page, but here's all the information you need to enjoy an arty session with your pupils...

Here's what you'll need:

  • Double sided sticky tape

  • Strong duct tape

  • Glitter glue

  • PVA glue

  • 2 large clear plastic bottles

  • Coloured tissue paper (warm colours)

  • Elastic bands

  • Scissors

  • A paint brush

  • Downloadable graphics (found here)

Step one

Using a paintbrush, cover both plastic bottles with glitter glue. Leave to dry overnight — you may need to do more than one coating of paint.

Step two

Take your coloured tissue paper and fold each one several times. Using scissors, cut a diagonal line across the bottom of each piece, with each colour being a different size from the next.

Do this twice for each side of your jetpack. This will create the flames for the base of the jetpack.

Step three

Bunch up your coloured tissue paper and use an elastic band to tie at one end. Use duct tape to secure this, making sure the outside is sticky so it can attach to the plastic bottles.

Be careful, the duct tape is very sticky!

Step four

Take two strips of duct tape as long as your foream, and stick together so it forms a strap. Do this twice, so you have a strap for each arm.

Then, attach both glittery bottles together using more tape, like this..

Step five

Using double sided sticky tape, attach both ends of each arm strap side by side and then attach to the back of your jetpack. Do the same for both sides.

Step six

Finally, attach your 'flames' into the ends of both bottles (with double sided tape). You can use more sticky tape around the outside so it stays secure.

Step seven

Don't forget to decorate your jetpack using the downloadable graphics which can be found here

And that's it!
