British Science Week 2018

This year's theme is 'exploration and discovery'.

British Science Week is fast approaching (9 - 18 March 2018) and this year, the British Science Association has created a series of primary school resources to support and aid teachers during the week, making them adaptable to use throughout the school year.

The theme for this year is 'Exploration and Discovery', encouraging young people to think about everyday discoveries and how they affect their lives by exploring science in the world all around us; from their home and schools, to their local area and wider environment. It is also a chance for young people to consider how exploration and discovery can have a positive impact on the future.

The free primary school resource pack also includes:

  • Assembly ideas
  • Ideas for exploring the outdoors
  • Activities around 'exploring our homes', including how we can reuse plastic bottles and tin cans
  • 'Exploring the world' resources; from Polar explorer food to an Ocean Floor Mission
  • A poster competition
